Undergraduate Seminar IV

Catalog description

This seminar focuses on professional development through critical listening and evaluation of scientific presentations. Students attend chemistry seminars presented by senior majors and invited speakers and learn how to interpret technical content, assess the effectiveness of oral scientific communication, and engage responsibly as members of a scientific audience. Through questioning and written peer evaluations, students develop skills in scientific interpretation, professional feedback, and seminar participation. This course prepares students for increased communicative and evaluative responsibilities in the senior year.
