Catalog description

This course provides an in-depth assessment of the array of services, resources and supports that people in recovery from mental health and substance use/misuse issues need to be successful in their communities. Topics include life skills needed in recovery, self-advocacy, financial literacy, vocational skills, housing options, educational options, and community advocacy, while learning how to create and maintain appropriate personal and professional boundaries. Upon completion, students should be able to assess models of wellness and recovery that enhance outcomes through evidence-informed approaches to recovery, and strategize ways to build recovery communities.
