Catalog description

A course addressing pronunciation issues relating to singing in the six principal languages of western music–Latin, Italian, English, French, German, and Spanish. A central thrust of the course is the use of a familiarity with the International Phonetic Alphabet. Prerequisite(s): A course addressing pronunciation issues relating to singing in English, Italian, Latin, and Spanish. Use of the International Phonetic Alphabet is emphasized.
