Catalog description

An investigation of the process of teaching students the information and skills they need to become health-literate, to maintain and improve their health, to prevent disease, and to reduce risky health-related behaviors. The course includes the study of etiological factors and social influences that compromise health behavior outcomes, ways to establish interventions within a Coordinated School Health Program, resources for designing effective health education curricula and programs, and factors that impact needs in comprehensive sequential health education. Prerequisite(s): EDUC 221. When Offered: Spring.
