Catalog description

This course builds upon foundational biochemistry knowledge, providing in-depth coverage of protein structure and function and the major metabolic pathways (processing of carbohydrates, fats, proteins, and nucleic acids). Emphasis will be placed on reaction mechanisms, kinetics, thermodynamics, and how these pathways are regulated to maintain homeostasis. Prerequisite(s): C or better in BIOL 430 or Instructor Permission Lecture/Lab 3/1
