Plant Physiology

Catalog description

A detailed study of the physiological mechanisms that regulate growth, development, reproduction, and metabolism of flowering plants. Special emphasis will be placed on the ecophysiological relationships between plants and their environment, diverse energy acquisition pathways in plants, and the genetic regulation of plant development. Students will explore physiological mechanisms through a series of self-designed experiments. Cross-listed: ( ENVS 438 ) Prerequisite(s): BIOL 111 and BIOL 202 . CHEM 111 , CHEM 113 are recommended, but not required. When Offered: Fall semester. Lecture/Lab Three lecture and three laboratory hours each week.
