Campbell University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
The main focus of this course is to understand the role molecular principles play in the structure and function of living systems and how this information can be used to answer biological questions. Students will explore a range of online databases to retrieve information about nucleic acids and proteins; perform sequence comparisons; and view and manipulate protein structure. Students then apply the information they gather to a biological question, system or disease. Special emphasis will be placed on displaying protein structure in a variety of ways to better understand protein function. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 111 and BIOL 201 When Offered: Fall only Lecture/Lab Three lecture hours each week.
