This course is an overview of public health. It will include discussion about how public health is defined, has developed over time, how it is measured within a population through epidemiology, and what it looks like globally. It will also focus on some of the following: health systems, ethics, poverty, maternal and infant health, social behavior, emergency preparedness & response, environmental health, health education & communication, public health occupations, and health law and policy.
