Introduction to the basic skills of reading, writing, speaking, aural comprehension, and culture in a contextualized format. Grammatical concepts include the usage of present tense of regular, irregular, and stem-changing verbs, present progressive tense, articles, concepts of noun/adjective agreement, prepositions, preterit and imperfect tenses of regular, irregular, and stem-changing verbs, reflexive verbs, direct and indirect object pronouns, an introduction to commands, and the subjunctive mood. Vocabulary is presented in thematic units.
