Forensic Social Work with Adults.

Catalog description

This course provides an overview of social work within the criminal-legal system by examining history, theories, interventions, research, and policy and their impacts on various diverse individuals and populations, especially those from marginalized communities. Students will learn about the history of and current influences on the criminal legal system; how individuals move through and interact with the system; and how social workers can use assessment, intervention strategies, and advocacy to support them, their families, and communities.
