Catalog description
This course immerses students in the practice of public sociology by teaching them to write persuasively for non-academic audiences while maintaining sociological rigor. Students will learn to translate sociological research and theory into accessible writing genres including op-eds, blog posts, policy memos, and community reports. Through engagement with real-world sociological issues, students will develop their ability to communicate sociological insights to diverse publics and contribute to social change through writing.
