Our modern life is intimately and increasingly intertwined with energy utilization. This course deals with where energy comes from, how it is converted to desirable forms, where it is consumed, and what the consequences of this consumption are. In each case, historical perspective, current status, and future projections will be discussed. The ultimate objective of this course is to help students to make informed decisions on energy-related issues in their personal life and as responsible members of the society.
