Catalog description
Deals with the considerable body of Postcolonial literature written in English. Many of the writers come from countries of the former British Commonwealth, including Achebe, Desai, Emccheta, Naipaul, and Rushdie. It focuses on the literary, cultural and political environments in which the texts are situated and on their relationship to the wider tradition of literature in English. Prerequisite: Junior standing; a WPJ Portfolio score OR ENGL 109M or ENGL 109W
