Catalog description

his initial seminar establishes reflection as the foundation of effective teaching while frontloading the core professional practices emphasized in the edTPA. Candidates learn to engage in deliberate, purposeful, and metacognitive reflection to adapt interventions and supports that foster access to the general education curriculum. The course introduces foundational knowledge in Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) as proactive frameworks for promoting academic and behavioral success. Candidates also develop effective communication strategies for navigating challenging conversations related to social justice and equity and collaborating with key stakeholders.
