Catalog description

Designed to provide graduate students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be legally and ethically competent in the practice of counseling. Examines ethical and legal considerations pursuant to practice of counseling and ethical decision making. Topics to be covered include ethics related to specialized areas of counseling practice; California laws related to business and professions, education, evidence, family codes, and tele-mental health; California mandatory child and elder abuse assessment and reporting; malpractice and liability; and federal and state laws including confidentiality and privilege.
