Catalog description

This course focuses on intersection of medical and psychosocial aspects of disability including various congenital, hereditary, and trauma-induced disabilities along with psychosocial aspects such as the psychological genesis of and social implications affecting individuals with disabilities. The etiology, pathology, treatment, symptoms, prognosis, and limitations caused by various disabling medical conditions and various psychological disabilities will be explored in concert with treatment considerations. The course will explore rehabilitation from a holistic standpoint to enhance coping and skill development.
