Catalog description
Principles involved in the investigation of crimes through mapping of physical evidence found at crime scenes and the creation of scaled drawings for demonstrative presentations in court are explored. The concepts of reconstruction of events at crime scenes is emphasized and used to develop timelines and motives and scientifically defensible evidence for prosecution. The use of standard measuring tools, 3D laser scanners, and sUAS for mapping are introduced and students create representative drawings of crime scenes in 2D and 3D.
