Catalog description

Health and well-being are inherently social. The social relationships that create and maintain our social identities are not only central to our sense of self, but they also provide an all-important lens through which we see, understand, and tackle key life events. This course will provide an overview of theory and research on identity, as it related to health and well-being. Ultimately, students will demonstrate the ways communication both affects and reflects our multifaceted identity structure and influences our health and well-being.
