Catalog description

This course introduces Construction 4.0 and the digital transformation of the architecture, engineering, construction, and operations (AECO) industry, emphasizing how emerging technologies are changing how built assets are designed, delivered, and operated across the full life cycle. Students examine cloud-based common data environments for collaboration and information management and explore digital twin concepts using sensor and IoT data for monitoring and decision support. Topics include advanced materials, reality capture and 3D mapping, drones and connected jobsites, digital fabrication, prefabrication, robotics and automation, and smart building operations.
