Considers Mexican art from the Mexican Revolution to the present, with a transborder lens. Discussion will center on major issues in Mexican art history, including Mexican muralism and its critics, the role of indigenous art and folk art, figuration vs. abstraction, collectivism vs. individual creation, the role of activist art, and photography and ethics.
