Catalog description

While covering Italian Renaissance artists such as Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, and Michelangelo, this course also presents an expanded view of the Renaissance focusing on other artistic centers such as Lisbon, Nuremberg, Madrid, Mexico City, Goa, Antwerp, and more. Emphasis will be placed on Renaissance painting, sculpture, architecture, and prints within the context of global trade, Catholic missionary activities, and European colonization.
