Catalog description

An overview of the art and architecture of the ancient Mediterranean world from ca. 700 BCE to ca. 500 CE, including art that was created and circulated throughout what are now the nations of Greece, Italy, Tunisia, Libya, Algeria, Turkey, Cyprus, Croatia, Egypt, Syria, Spain, and more. Topics include religious architecture and cult statues, domestic art, the depiction of the human form, and art that was intended to display political power.
