This class focuses on ethnographic and theoretical understandings of an often taken-for-granted object, the body. Through engagement with anthropological and phenomenological literature, with intersectional emphases on gender, sexuality, race, class, and ability, we will develop an understanding of bodies as archives of social experiences and artifacts of historical processes.
