Catalog description

This foundation course introduces students to the evaluation and application of theories, models, and frameworks that guide social work practice at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels. This course seeks to provide the foundation knowledge regarding diversity in practice and advocate for human rights and social, racial, economic, and environmental justice. This knowledge is to support and build on the strengths and resiliency of all human beings. The course explores the life course perspective in human behavior and the role of knowledge and theory in case formulation. It is the first course in a two- course sequence.
