Catalog description

This class is designed for upper-division Spanish students who are pursuing degrees in the health and human services professions or who desire to become translators in the medical field. The course provides multiple opportunities to develop linguistic and cultural competence, to learn vocabulary related to the field of health and human services, to review hard-to-understand grammatical concepts, to describe health-related cultural competence and to present opportunities to discuss issues of concern about the health of Hispanic communities in the U.S. and abroad.
