Catalog description

This methods course is designed as an overview of the core elements of demographic research and how to interpret quantitative data specific to population analysis. This hands-on class uses global data and computer technology to develop students' skills in analyzing and writing about quantitative data. In addition to covering basic concepts of demographic analysis related to the calculation of key demographic measures pertaining to fertility and mortality patterns, this class looks at social inequality across less developed and more developed regions of the world.
