Catalog description

Provides an analysis of the major theoretical perspectives that provide the conceptual basis for sociological research and analysis. Emphasis is on the terminology, assumptions, and implications of the dominant theoretical frameworks in contemporary sociology, such as ethnomethodology, critical theory, contemporary feminism, rational choice, and post-modernism. A grade of C- or higher is required for graduation. Students who do not achieve the minimum grade will have to re-take the course and get a grade of C- or higher to graduate. Prerequisites: Minimum grade of C- in SOC 3100 ; must be a Sociology major. Students cannot take SOC 3110 concurrently with SOC 3100 .
