Catalog description

Positive psychology focuses on positive emotions, like happiness, and human strengths that act as buffers against mental illness and promote quality of life. In this course we will look at what behavioral research tells us about positive emotions and human strengths like optimism, creativity, gratitude, and wisdom. Students will read popular and scholarly works, participate in classroom discussions, develop and complete exploratory exercises outside the classroom, and reflect upon and write about various aspects of the life lived well.
