Catalog description

This course will explore major religious traditions of antiquity, particularly Egyptian, Greek, Manichaean, Roman, pre-Vedic, and Zoroastrian traditions. The course will examine theological, legal, and mystical dimensions of each tradition through a textual and comparative framework. We will explore how these traditions shaped later religious thought and reveal the diverse spiritual imagination of ancient cultures.
