Catalog description

Focuses on the identification and treatment of common health problems of young, middle-aged, and older adults. Common physiological illness conditions are examined to provide person - centered and evidence-based nursing interventions within a safe and quality care environment. The CSUB Department of Nursing Conceptual Model provides a basis for viewing health problems. Clinical reasoning skills are developed for identifying nursing and collaborative problems. The nursing process is utilized as an approach to re-establish systems stability and maximum functional status. Leadership and ethical decision-making are introduced. Principles and concepts of inter/intraprofessional partnerships and collaboration and communication within teams are utilized in the development of the nursing care plan for the medical-surgical client and their family.
