Catalog description

Basic nursing skills and procedures related to the theory and principles taught in NURS 2120 are demonstrated and practiced first in laboratory simulations and then in hospital practice. These skills are applied in clinical practice settings while providing care to adults, with an emphasis on patient safety. The use of communication as the basis for establishing a professional nurse-client relationship is examined and practiced. Beginning application of the nursing process is achieved utilizing the CSUB Department of Nursing philosophy and conceptual model of nursing, with an emphasis on providing patient-centered nursing care. Corequisite: NURS 2120 .
