With the conquest of vast territories, Islam was to change Western Civilization itself. This course explores the great Muslim discoveries in science, technology, medicine and the social sciences between 758 and 1406 CE. Particular attention will be paid throughout the course to select key figures whose contribution to the body of human knowledge made a lasting impression in the world in which we live in today.
