Catalog description

This course serves as an introduction to geological processes on the planets and moons in our solar system. Students will take a tour of the solar system, starting at the Moon, followed by the Terrestrial planets, the Asteroid belt, the Giant Planets and their moons, Pluto and its moons, and the Earth from the planetary perspective. Students will also become familiar with the current policies and procedures of NASA, planetary science policy, as well as construction of a geological sortie mission to a planetary body. A field trip may be required. 150 minutes of lecture and 150 minutes of lab per week. A course fee will be required.
