Catalog description

In this course, students will utilize their knowledge of geology to plan and conduct geological field investigations in specific field areas. Field-based projects will require students to find and review available literature as well as collect, analyze, and interpret a variety of geologic datasets (with a focus on original data). Students will communicate their findings in a formal written report that may include a geologic map, stratigraphic column, cross-section, geological/geophysical model, and/or other appropriate products. Lab and required field trip(s). Equivalent of 150 minutes of lab per week per unit. A course fee is required.
