Catalog description

This course will examine the fundamental physical and chemical processes of volcanology through study of volcanoes on the Earth and throughout the solar system. Students will investigate the origin of magma sources, evolution of magma chambers, and eruption styles. Concepts presented in lecture will be reinforced through lab and field exercises. A field trip may be required. 150 minutes of lecture and 150 minutes of lab per week. There will be a required field trip. A course fee is required.
