Catalog description

This course examines the chemical processes governing the Earth system and its interactions, focusing on the exchange of matter and energy. It covers three major areas: continental, atmospheric, and marine geochemistry. Topics include the geochemistry of lakes and rivers, air pollution and climate change, and the chemical dynamics of marine environments. Emphasis is placed on natural processes and the impact of human activities on these systems. A field trip may be required. 150 minutes of lecture and 150 minutes of lab per week. A course fee is required.
