Earth Science in the Movies ((1))

Catalog description

In this course we will watch and analyze earth science concepts in movies. We will utilize hands-on laboratory exercises to compliment and reenforce concepts that are presented in the movies. Each week we will focus on a different concept presented in an Earth Science movie. At the end of the course, students will be able to identify and describe science concepts presented in film and analyze those concepts for accuracy. Satisfies general education lower division Area 5C Physical Sciences.
