Catalog description

This one credit laboratory course is an introduction to environmental science, conservation, and sustainability. Students will have hands on experiences in assessing and analyzing different environmental issues related to air quality, water pollution, climate change, energy use, natural resources, biodiversity, and environmental degradation. This lab course is designed to provide students with a sound foundation in basic principles and unifying concepts of Environmental Science. Students will gain an awareness of the integration of Earth systems and the tools needed to address contemporary environmental issues and appreciate the revolutionary ideas and innovations that led to our current understanding. Satisfies general education lower division Area 5C Physical Sciences (1 credit).
