This hands-on laboratory course examines a wide variety of fossils collected from all over the world to discover the scientific evidence of life of the geologic past, and will look at the processes of fossilization, applications of fossils in geology and society, and fossil evidence of evolution and extinction, revealing the revolutionary ideas and innovations that led to our current understanding. Satisfies general education lower division Area 5C Physical Sciences (1credit).
