Catalog description

Historical linguistics examines language change at different levels, including phonological, morphological, syntactic, semantic, and lexical change. The course also discusses such concepts as language contact and borrowing, comparative language reconstruction, language relatedness, and language families. Examples will be drawn from both Indo-European and non-Indo-European languages.
