Catalog description

The practice and teaching of creative writing, including poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and/or drama in the high school English Language Arts classroom. Students will be required to write extensively, learning through experience, writing workshops, and peer and instructor feedback. Course will provide pedagogical skills in the teaching of creative writing for future educators, including the processes of close reading; understanding and employing craft, structure, text type, purpose, and genre conventions; and producing, distributing, and performing creative writing.
