Community Service Learning in Criminal Justice ((3))

Catalog description

This course provides students with an in-depth introduction to the roles, responsibilities, and operations of law enforcement, courts, or corrections. Guided by research, theory, and policy, students will learn about the importance of public engagement between local communities and the criminal justice system. Students will be required to participate in a service learning project while demonstrating professional communication and collaboration with criminal justice personnel and the community. Service learning projects will vary by agency. This course is open only to criminal justice majors. A background check may be required.
