Catalog description

An introduction to the nature of the discipline and the fundamentals of language and culture. The main goal of this course is to begin to learn to speak, read, write, and comprehend spoken Chinese at the novice-low level. Special emphasis is placed on developing communication skills and on increasing awareness of cultures in the Chinese-speaking world.
