Catalog description

This course is an introduction to nuclear magnetic resonance. Concepts of nuclear spins, J-coupling, chemical shift, vector and product operator representations, pulse sequences, and simple 1D and 2D NMR experiments will be discussed. Incorporation of MS Excel will be used to generate plots, analyze data, and complete problems sets. 50 minutes of lecture/discussion per week. Student may not receive credit if previously taken CHEM 4130 .
