Catalog description

This course is designed to provide students with fundamental knowledge of common instrumental techniques utilized in chemical analysis. This will involve a detailed examination of the theoretical basis for the utility of each technique, and practical considerations for operating this instrumentation. The techniques covered will include UV/Vis, IR, and Fluorescence Spectroscopy as well as Atomic Absorption, and Mass Spectrometry. 50 minutes of lecture/discussion per week. Student may not receive credit if previously taken CHEM 4130 .
