Catalog description

Introduction to the main groups of pathogens that cause plant disease (bacteria, fungi, oomycetes, nematodes, viruses). Discussion of how they are spread and affect plant health, growth, and development. Additional topics include plant disease diagnosis, plant disease control, factors influencing disease development, and examples of how plant pathogens have influenced human history and culture. 150 minutes lecture and 150 minutes laboratory. Lab fee required.
