Catalog description

From the Industrial Revolution to the Paris International Exposition of 1900, this course explores a century of Western art and architecture defined by major discoveries, cultural and political upheavals, the introduction of new technologies, and radical ideals. Students examine the consequences of major events in the world on European art, the impact of artistic innovations on the world, and their continuing effects in society today. Lecture/discussion. Prerequisites: At least 60 units and completion of lower division Area 3.
