Catalog description
This course will teach students basic skills for the identification of both invertebrate and vertebrate faunal remains recovered from archaeological sites. Students will learn the essential morphological attributes of both invertebrate and vertebrate fauna most frequently found in archaeological contexts; learn how to prepare comparative shell and skeletal collections; and become acquainted with taphonomic processes and other agents of bone and shell modification.
