Catalog description

This is the follow-up course to ANTH 2100 , Introduction to Field Archaeology. Students will continue to learn more advanced archaeological survey and excavation techniques, focusing work in the greater southern San Joaquin Valley region. All aspects of advanced archaeological field techniques are covered: field reconnaissance and survey, site recording, mapping, excavation, and evaluation of data. A field trip and/or equipment fee may be required. Consult the class schedule for specific details. Student who take this class must also take ANTH 4150 [grade report will be delayed until ANTH 4150 is completed. Failure to complete ANTH 4150 within one year will result in a no-credit designation.
