Catalog description

The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the basic concepts of field archaeology. Students will be trained in the use of maps, field equipment, how to recognize and record archaeological sites, and survey techniques. Additionally, students will be taught the appropriate methods for laying out excavation units, mapping features, and doing field photography.
